This year, perhaps more than in any previous stewardship campaign, we are asking you to believe in our collective ability as a faith community to be a transformative model of Christian charity, hope and love. We are asking you to commit your support to the unique ways that Wilbraham United Church embodies faith and discipleship, service and love – as we seek to extend our extravagant welcome to friends and neighbors in these unprecedented and uncertain times.
The core mission and ministry of our congregation has not changed in these last few months, but the way in which we are able to live that mission and share that ministry certainly has. Even as we hope and pray that we will be able to gather again soon, we remember that even though our building is closed, our church remains active.
We have continued to host a time for worship twice a week, for our community and guests, on Facebook Live; provide Christian Education opportunities for all ages on Zoom; share food, toiletries and school supplies to those in need through our Drive-Through Food Drives, Loaves and Fishes, and Church Without Walls; and be the Body of Christ, bearing one another’s joys and sorrows.
Wilbraham United Church can do all of this because of your commitment, and we are grateful for the many ways in which you have encouraged and supported our mission and ministry – with your time, your talents, and your treasure. We are truly blessed, and through the blessings we have received from you, we are able to be a blessing to the world around us. As we continue to walk into the future that God is calling us toward, we will continue to need your support, your participation, and your commitment.
Please prayerfully discern where God is calling you to put your time, talent, and treasure in these times. Please think deeply about how your material and spiritual blessings can be increased and multiplied when put to use in our church community. Please renew your commitment to Wilbraham United Church, so that we can continue to build God’s beloved community here in Wilbraham and all over God’s creation.
